MEIFUMADO

«Our lives are indestructible.

Immortal!

Though waves break and blood flies, never shrink.

Though my body falls, never quail.

Though my eyes shut, my lips close…

Do not fear.

  In that world of rebirth,

I’m still your Father.

In that world and all worlds,

You are my Son!

We are Father and Child!

Forever!»

THIS ENGLAND

This royal throne of kings, this sceptered isle,

This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,

Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England,
This nurse, this teeming womb of royal kings,
Feared by their breed and famous by their birth,
Renowned for their deeds as far from home

For Christian service and true chivalry.

Scene no 86: English knights (Britains Swoppets, 15 th Century Knights, The Wars of the Roses, 10 different plastic figures) protect the throne which encloses the Stone of Scone (Britains Toys, Coronation Chair).

The lyrics of the play: By William Shakespeare. From «Richard II», Act 2, scene 1.
